The midwife keeps calling me "Big Ole Boy." Mommy told her to knock it off because it makes me sound like a Redneck!
I wanted to tell you all about a rocking party that some friends threw for Mommy and me earlier this month. We thought it would just be a regular shower, but Mother Nature had other plans for us.
My Nannie, Teetee and Grandma all flew to Atlanta to come to the party, but they weren't the only forces to be reckoned with in the ATL that weekend. Here's a picture of me, Mommy and Teetee. I'm kind of blocking Teetee in the photo (I kind of block everything these days).
Tornadoes swept through the city about 12 hours before the party!! Our family didn't even know the tornadoes had touched down because we were all out having dinner and celebrating the fact that we were all together as a family. Mommy got a call from her coworkers that a tornado hit her work building and then the phone rang all night with people worrying that Mommy and I were there when the storm hit, but no worries we were home in bed.
The storms couldn't stop the party on Saturday, we had such a great time with so many friends coming from South Carolina and from CNN to spoil us rotten. The party was at a yummy restaurant with lots of good food. I got so many clothes and shoes that Mommy says she's going to have to change me every two hours just to make sure I get to wear all that fashionable stuff.
Mommy and I spent a couple of hours at the shower chatting with friends and opening presents. I got my first pair of shoes (and a couple more pairs to boot) It was so much fun. I especially loved the cake because I am a sugar junkie!
When it was time to leave Teetee loaded all the presents in the car and we made it outside just in time for me to hear my very first tornado siren! Mommy said it was her first time hearing one too because she's from the land of hurricanes, not tornadoes. We drove home really fast so that we wouldn't be caught in the storm.
The rest of the weekend with all of our visitors was really fun, but nothing compares to the excitement of driving in a tornado!
Love,
V
