Cha-cha-changes

This past week has brought a lot of change for a little boy like me. On Thursday I got another tooth on the top right side of my mouth. On Saturday I woke up with another tooth on the top left side of my mouth. That brings me to 6 teeth!! Steak here I come.

Saturday morning Daddy took me for this spiffy haircut. Mommy says I look so grown up... but it was time. I was sick of Daddy calling me a hippy and I was tired of always brushing the hair out of my eyes.

Rambling Man

Friends I have been on quite an adventure. I went down to Nannie and Poppies house last weekend. Mommy, Daddy and I drove down. It was much more fun this time because I like my new big boy car seat. In true Nannie fashion there were new toys waiting for me when I got there. She got me a little lawn mower. Daddy told me to practice a lot because I would be using the big boy version every week once I got older. What's that mean?

A new house meant new mischevious things to do. I was determined to show Nannie just all the fun things little babies can do. I wanted to show her that I can open doors and drawers and that I really, really like taking everything off a shelf and putting all that stuff on the floor. Thankfully Nannies are really patient. Look at what she let me do with her brand new cabinets.

I'm really rough now that I'm getting into everything. Mommy says I don't have baby legs any more I have little boy legs because they are full of bruises and scrapes because I am so lively. You can see all my battle scars in the pictures. As usual we took A LOT of pictures. Click here to see some pictures from our trip.
The trip was full of firsts. I had my first beer! Well not really it was root beer. Mommy, Daddy, Nannie, Aunt Ellen and I went to the Abita Brewery near Nannie's house. They make beer that Daddy really likes but they also make root beer. Mommy let me try it. Wow was she regretting that later. It's made with pure Louisiana cane syrup and I never had that much energy!! I could have run back to Georgia with all that sugar in my system. Click here to see all the pictures from our brewery tour. Thank goodness the beer at the tour is free because Daddy said he needed one after wrestling a wiggly hyper baby the whole time. I wonder who he was talking about? I was the only baby there.

Mommy decided to break her no sugar rule and let me have my first ice cream. I really, really like it! It was actually frozen custard but who's keeping track. I made everyone in the whole family share a spoonful of theirs with me. We did all that fun stuff and more before we even got to the main reason we were visiting... Jazz Fest!

I loved Jazz Fest. It was so full of interesting people and food and music. I saw some crazy things and heard some great Louisiana music. Mommy and Daddy said I was a very patient boy so they let me eat some mango freeze and a little alligator pie. Click here to see all our fest photos. We went two days in a row so that we could make the most of our time. Well I'm off friends to plan my next adventure.

Partying in the Pool

Saturday was so beautiful and warm. When Daddy got home from work we decided to break out the pool for the first time. I was so excited because I love, love, love water. Daddy let me sit in the pool while the water was coming out of the hose. I took that as my opportunity to experiment. I watered the patio, I tried watering Mommy and the dogs and I drank about as much water as I put in the pool. Mommy said dogs drink from the hose, but I was out to prove her wrong. I was NOT happy when Mommy and Daddy decided that it was getting cooler and time to get out. I will not be posting any pictures of that because I'm a little ashamed of how much I cried.

I did learn something about swimming. It makes you really hungry! Now I know why Michael Phelps always has the munchies... Click here to see more pictures of my pool party and enjoy the little clip of me in my speedo swimming trunks filling the pool with water from the hose.

Tough Guy

I had a rough week this week. I decided to be a tough guy and that is very tiring. On Thursday I decided to try to climb up into the high chair at school and banged my eye. Mommy was very surprised when she went to pick me up and I had a shiner! You can kind of see it in this picture. It's my left eye and it's really not that bad. It barely shows up.

I've also started talking in my sleep. I make noises somewhere between a cry and really loud talking. Sometimes I do it once a night sometimes two or three times and sometimes just for fun I do it for over an hour. Every time Mommy and Daddy check I'm still fast asleep but just making a lot of noise. Mommy and Daddy now have black under their eyes too but not from falling... from lack of sleep.

I got in trouble at school on Friday because I took a bite out of a little boy in my class. The teacher told Mommy I wasn't trying to be mean I was just teething. I chew on everything including pacifiers. Daddy said it was just get back because that boy had bitten me before. Thank goodness I was wearing plaid overalls that day. It's hard to stay mad at someone wearing such cute overalls.

Easter 2009

Last weekend was probably the busiest of my little life. On Saturday we had my big party and on Sunday we celebrated Easter. Mommy, Daddy and I went to church with Grandma and Grandpa. There were so many people there! It was great people watching. Afterwards we met up with Nannie, Poppie, Aunt Ellen, Teetee and Uncle Troy for brunch.

When we got back to the house the Easter Bunny had been there. I wish I hadn't missed him because I wanted to thank him for all the fun presents he left me. I got some toys to play with in the water and a big toy organizer that was cleverly filled with all kinds of baby snacks. After opening presents it was time to say goodbye to Grandma and Grandpa and take a nap.

When I woke up we all took a family walk to the park. Even though I have a big swingset in my backyard, it's still so much fun to go to the park. This time I LOVED the slide. I made sure we played with it over and over and over again. I got in lots of quality time with Poppie because he was leaving the next morning.

After a long day of playing, praying and being showered with more presents, it was time to put on my bunny pajamas and wish everyone a good night. Click here to see all of my Easter pictures.

Birthday Boy

I know, I know you are probably all so mad at me for not blogging in so long but boy has it been a whirlwind of a week! I turned one on April 6th. It was such a fun day because both Mommy and Daddy took the day off of work to spend with me. First we went to the doctor for my checkup. She said that I weigh 21 lbs even and I'm 29 inches tall. I thought that was pretty big but she said I'm only in the 25 percentile. But no worries friends so said I'm strong, healthy and a very busy bee so I'm probably burning a lot of calories. After the doctor we all went to lunch. I tried to eat everything in site to prove to my doctor that I am a food champ.

Afer lunch we went over to the mall to see the Easter Bunny. Check out my other blog to see a picture of that fun and crazy guy.

I took a big long nap on my birthday because a growing boy needs his rest. When I woke up we went to this insanely fun place where you get to jump in these big inflatable toys. They have a special one for people like me. I'm officially a toddler now not an infant! Daddy got to jump with me and I got to meet some other big kids just like me. We wrapped up our great day with dinner at a Vietnamese restaurant where I got to eat curry chicken and stir fried tofu. Click here to see all the pictures from my birthday celebration. But who knew you could stretch the birthday fun out for the rest of the week?!
All my grandparents, my Great Aunt Ellen and my Teetee and Uncle Troy all came to Atlanta for my birthday party. It was such a blast because our neighbors and friends all came to our house to play. I was having so much fun that I ended up wearing several different outfits that day! Click here to see pictures of my party. Now I know what you're thinking... hey what about the best part the cake?!

To be honest with you friends it was much ado about nothing. It took my like half an hour to eat just a little bit of that stuff. And who can handle all the papparazzi? I had to create a whole different album just for the birthday cake pictures. To see how it went down blue frosting and all, click here. Mommy's friend Ms. Alison took videos of me eating my cake. I've posted just a short clip of one because if not we would have to rent theaters to screen the darn movie because it took me so long. I have to admit even though I barely cracked a smile, it was kind of fun to make all that mess.

So many people took pictures of me on my birthday. To see Ms. Alison's pictures click here. To see the pictures my neighbors Cathy and Kathy took click here. I'm sure there are many other pictures of my party out there but I'm getting a little worn out from all this uploading and hyperlinking.
I want to say a very special thank you to all the people who spoiled me rotten at my party. I also want to tell you about something special we did at my party. We told people to bring canned goods instead of presents. All our guests brought 50 lbs of food for the people in need who visit the Atlanta Community Food Bank. 50lbs!! That's like more than two of me!

Hoppity Hop Hop

I met this great guy today. His name is Mr. Easter Bunny! He is so furry, just like a big stuffed animal. I was so excited to see him. I told him I prefered him over Santa Claus any old day. He even let me take a picture with him. My spring clothes are very deceptive. Mommy and Daddy changed me inside the mall because it was 45 degrees outside!

My new friend told me that if I was a good boy he would bring me a basket full of goodies on Easter Sunday. I said sign me up, I love presents!
