Crib Notes

Friends I'm moving on up. On Thursday night I slept in my big boy crib for the first time. Mommy was worried that it would be hard for me to adapt, but I fell asleep right away. I like it in there so much that on my second night in there I slept the longest stretch of my little life, 6 hours!

Here's a picture of me giving the crib a test run earlier in the month. The best part about my crib is that it's in my room, right next to Mommy and Daddy's room so they are right there if I need them.

Even Babies Get the Blues

Today I had a playdate with my friend Zaven and his sister Amelia and their Mommy. We met up at the mall for some shopping and lunch (o.k. the shopping was really for the Mommies), but for some reason I just wasn't feeling like playing today. I cried for almost 4 hours straight during the whole outing. No ammount of feeding, diaper changing, gas drops, burping or rocking made me feel better. I think at one point Mommy even got on the crying bandwagon (but I think hers was out of frustration).

My friend Z was cool as a cucumber the whole time. He barely cried at all! We will have to schedule another play date and this time I will have to bring my A game. I don't want to be the kid that no one wants to have a play date with.

In order to distract you from the fact that I just admitted to being that naughty baby in a store that everyone rolls their eyes at, I've included some cute new pictures of me. Hard to believe that I can be that cranky isn't it?

Well maybe from the looks of the last picture it isn't that hard to believe.

Working Man

Since I'm very big now I thought I should go to work. Well not really, but on Friday I got to go with Mommy to visit the people at her work. It's a very big place with lots of people. They were all so nice to me and said I was a very good baby (that's just because I was asleep the whole time and all babies are good when they are asleep). Mommy's work is very exciting for a little baby because there are so many lights to look at and a lot of people talking. Here's a picture of me and Mommy at work.

All the people are very excited for Mommy to go back to work. Don't they know that I'm the boss of her now? Here's a picture of Mommy with her old boss and me her new boss. You can see the weather set in the background. Daddy said I could be a meteorologist, but Mommy says no career in news for me.

Seeing Red

So there was this big debate when my Grandpa and Grandma came to visit over the color of my hair. They both think it's red and Mommy and Daddy think it's brown. Here are some close up shots of me in the last week. Tell me what you think my hair color is. I will put a hair color quiz at the bottom of the blog. Thank you to the 3 people who voted on my last quiz :)

As for my eyes, they are still blue, but sometimes babies are born with blue eyes and then they change around 3 to 6 months. My Mommy has blue eyes and my Daddy has brown eyes, so it's anyone's guess what I'll have.

Only the Lonely

I haven't posted in a while friends because my Nannie left and went back to Louisiana. That means that Mommy has way less time to take dictation and type my blogs for me. Nannie stayed for the first five weeks of my life. I miss her so much! But don't worry, I will see her in just a few weeks again. Here's a picture of me and my Nannie and Poppie. I think my Nannie's so sweet... maybe because she and my Mommy look so much alike. This picture was taken at my house on Mother's Day, the last time that I saw my Nannie.

I've changed so much in the almost two weeks since she's been gone. I am almost 10 pounds now! Mommy says she's really glad we're members of Sam's Club and Costco because apparently I'm going to be a big eater. Here's a picture of me and Daddy watching TV last weekend. Look at my big boy belly!

Mommy and I spend a lot of quality time while Daddy is at work and we've started planning our first trip down to Louisiana. Then I'll learn what it really means to be a bayou baby! She's promised me that I will even get to swim in Nannie and Poppies pool. I'll make sure to blog with pictures of me in my swim trunks.

As soon as Mommy and I get in the swing of things and get used to spending the days by ourselves, we'll try to carve out more regular time to blog.

A Family Affair

This weekend I got to meet a whole bunch of my family members for the first time. My Aunt Rachel and cousin Sophie came from Baltimore and my Grandma and Granpa came down from Pennsylvania. Then to add even more fun my Nannie and Poppie were here from Louisiana.

There was no shortage of arms to hold me. There is also much speculation as to who I look like. Mommy's family says I look like Daddy and Daddy's family says I look like someone in Mommy's family. Vote on the quiz at the bottom of the blog and let me know who you think I look like.

My cousin Sophie and I took all those adults to the zoo and we went to a bunch of fun restaurants. I can't wait for her to come back when I'm big enough to play with her. This is a picture of me and Sophie. Isn't she just beautiful?

The whole big family group celebrated Mother's Day together. I saved my allowance and got Mommy a card and a present. She says I have very good taste, but she suspects Daddy had a lot to do with picking out the present.

Baby Got Back

Since I'm growing so fast, I've officially switched out of newborn diapers. Mommy says the big butt gene comes from her side of the family. I've also outgrown some of my smallest newborn clothes. I'm still in the newborn size range but watch out 0 to 3 month clothes, here I come! My bigger size also means I'm getting that cute baby double chin and chubby thighs. Never again will I be able to use the words cute and double chin in the same sentence.

I'm much more alert these days but I have a really short attention span. Any one activity only keeps me content for about 3 minutes. My swing, bouncy chair, activity gym and even dancing with Nannie will only keep me engaged for 3 minutes each.

My One Month Day

On Tuesday we celebrated my one month day. I've officially been here for one whole month. Mommy and Daddy celebrated with two kinds of cake. My Teetee and Uncle Troy were visiting from Louisiana and my Nannie is still here helping out. We had a nice party. This is me and Daddy checking out the cakes. The next picture is me and my Teetee playing together at my party.

I went to the doctor on Monday for my one month checkup and the doctor says I'm a very big boy. I now weigh 8 pounds 8 ounces and I'm 21 inches long. My head has also grown 3/4 inch. Mommy says that's because my brain is so big. The doctor says I am very, very healthy. She complimented my hair and skin color. Mommy says I get all that from Daddy.

Now that I'm a big boy, Nannie and Mommy are putting the finishing touches on my room so that I can move in there and move out of my crib in Mommy and Daddy's room. Moving day will be in the next week sometime.

Reunited And It Feels So Good

I bet you guys thought I was slacking on the job but bad software has kept me from blogging for over a week. Mommy's pictures wouldn't download off of her camera. I could have blogged but let's be honest, what's a blog without pictures?

I didn't want you to think I was sleeping and playing around on the job. Please pay no attention to these pictures of me sleeping and playing around in the last week. So much has happened in the 9 days since we last spoke. I will try to do as many entries as possible tonight to catch you up on all the goings on. Mommy has told me to tell you she also vows to update software more often so that we don't have a system meltdown like last week.
