I Bid You Namaste

On Sunday I started practicing yoga. I hear chicks dig a guy who does yoga. I like to lay on my tummy and practice a pose Mommy calls the farting frog. I love laying on the floor because it helps me prepare to crawl and I get to see things from a whole new perspective. Mommy told me not to tell you that we have dust bunnies under the couch. We have to put the puppies out in the backyard when I do yoga because they would lick me like crazy.

Sunday was my 3 week anniversary and I seem to have hit a growth spurt. I am eating like crazy and I now have a little double chin. I am finally starting to outgrow my first round of onesies and hopefully in the next week or two I may graduate out of newborn diapers. Here I am in one of my slightly bigger outfits.

Bounce Around

Saturday was Mommy and Daddy's 5th wedding anniversary. Mommy says neither of them could have imagined five years ago that they could love anyone as much as they love each other and then they had me. Gosh my Mommy is such a mush ball!
Here's a picture of me in the bouncy chair that Teetee gave me. I like it but I can only stay content in it for about two minutes at a time. I'm wearing a onesie that Nannie bought for me. It says I heart grandma. I do heart my Nannie, she does silly things like dance around and sing to me whenever I feel fussy.

Playing Around

On Thursday I had my very first play date. My friend Zaven and his big sister Amelia came to my house with their Mom. Their Mommy works with my Mommy and Zaven was born just 4 days after me in the same exact hospital!

Zaven is a lot taller than me, so I looked like a little peanut next to him. Nannie said those are the best kind of friends to have because they will always stick up for you even if you are just a little guy. This is a picture of all of us relaxing at my house.

Splish Splash

Now that I have my new belly button I can take baths in my big boy bathtub. Here's a picture of me enjoying a bath. It's not my first bath because it turns out all the pictures from that one were R rated and Mommy says this is an all ages blog.

I really love taking baths; it calms me. You have to watch that the water covers me below the belly button or I try to add my own little jet stream into the mix. I only take a bath every other day because well I'm a baby folks, I don't really do too much to get dirty.

I'm a Bruiser!

I went to the doctor today and guess what, I gained a WHOLE pound in the past week. I now weigh 7 pounds 6 ounces. The doctor was so excited and said I am just growing and growing. Maybe now I can wear all those cute clothes in my closet. Check out my first pair of shades. I have a little growing to do before they fit properly.

The doctor also said I'm a member of the colic club. I have a mild case of colic but it shouldn't last too long. Mommy was very relieved because she says it breaks her heart every time I cry, especially when it's 3am and I've been doing it for over an hour.

Here's a picture of me playing on the couch. In case you are wondering what those white things are on my hands, they are baby mittens. Little babies have really long fingernails and we sometimes accidentally scratch our faces, so we wear mittens to keep us safe. They aren't very stylish, but I shouldn't have to wear them for much longer.

Two Weeks!

Sunday was my two week anniversary! This is the day that I was actually supposed to arrive, but I'm an early bird. As is family custom, we went out for breakfast to celebrate my anniversary. Guess what I got for my two week anniversary? A brand new belly button!! I wanted to post a picture but Mommy thinks it still looks a little like something out of a horror show, so we'll wait a while to show it off.

Poppie decided that we should go to a real museum so he took us to the Jimmy Carter Museum. I learned all about negotiating for peace, but Daddy says I still shouldn't negotiate with Hamas. Here's a picture of me and Daddy in the rose garden at the Carter Center. You can't tell in the picture, but at that exact moment I decided to give Daddy a little surprise which led to my first outdoors diaper change.

Whirlwind Weekend

Sorry for the delay in postings friends; I had a wild weekend! My Poppie came Friday night and we went out for dinner. I love staring at my Nannie and Poppies faces, they're familiar but so fascinating.

Saturday was my busiest day yet. Teetee flew in from Louisiana and we officially had a packed house. The whole family went to the place where Mommy worked. We didn't go to visit all of the work friends, but Teetee made sure I visited her favorite place at the bottom of the building... Starbucks. I inaugurated my new stroller with a drive through Centennial Park.

As a man of the world, I enjoy the finer things in life so I spent the afternoon at a museum. O.K. so it was just The World of Coke, but that's like a museum for soda. Here I am with my first official souvenir. The whole family tried all different kinds of sodas at the museum. Have you ever heard of a soda call the Beverly from Italy? Yucky! It's almost as gross as an out of diaper experience. I would not recommend it friends.

Just Another Day in Paradise

A lot of you have asked how my puppies are adjusting to having me home from the hospital. We're not best buddies yet, but we're working on it. I think they are a mixture of scared and curious. I'm just a mixture of too small to play with them and too loud to be ignored.

Today I tried sucking my thumb for the first time. Mommy was the only person who saw it because everyone else was out of the room. She dashed for the camera, but I pulled it out of my mouth just as she flipped the switch to on. I did also try my technique by trying to suck Nannie's thumb. It's much, much bigger than mine and will take a lot of practice to master. It will probably help if I get the correct end into my mouth, but those are just minor details.

Daddy spent the whole evening holding me because he knows Poppie is coming Friday night and Teetee is coming Saturday so he'll probably have empty arms all weekend long.

Hard Days Night

I had my first rough night Tuesday night. I cried for hours and there was just no consoling me. Trust me everyone in this little house tried. All that crying and keeping Mommy, Daddy and Nannie awake left me too worn out to blog yesterday. Here I am sleeping off my all nighter.

Wednesday brought a new adventure for Mommy and Daddy. I had my first "out of diaper experience" as Mommy calls it. That's when I managed to get more stuff outside the diaper than in it. It was crazy and Mommy couldn't stop laughing. She thinks it's funny that just two weeks ago she and Daddy were making gourmet food and reading books every night and now they talk about poo.. A LOT. It's a regular farty party here.

The fun was over fast, Daddy had to give me a bath to clean up from that mess. As you can see it made me a little grumpy.

Wednesday night I was back to my mellow little self, so all is right with the world.

Monday, Monday

Daddy had the day off of work on Monday and we went all over town running errands and doing fun stuff.

Now you're probably thinking to yourself, why is that kid always in his car seat? That's the only way that Mommy can take a picture of me without standing over me and scaring me with the flash. She's googling photography tips, don't worry the blog quality will improve.

I did a lot of fun stuff on Monday but unfortunately corporate America doesn't want you to know about it. I went to the farmer's market and to Sam's Club, but they don't allow photography inside, so you will just have to imagine a tiny little baby asleep in a shopping cart. Mommy says I have inherited her love of shopping because the motion of the shopping cart soothes me and puts me into a deep sleep.

Monday I got my first official piece of mail with my name on it. I'm sure by the end of the week I will be getting my very first credit card offer. The box was a gift from my Aunt Rachel, Uncle Ben and cousin Sophia. The boxes were twice as big as I am!

It's Been One Week

Sunday was my one week anniversary. It's a little known fact but 1st anniversaries are typically celebrated with pancakes. Here's a picture of me at the Original Pancake House. Yes I know the picture is sideways. My Mommy is working on mastering her photo skills, but I'm still really cute if you turn your head to the left.

I've filled out a lot in my first week. I'm back up to my birth weight. I am even practicing my pass fake look by trying to turn my head left and right. For the most part I'm a bobble head, but my pediatrician thinks I have exceptional control of my neck muscles for someone of my wise old age.

Doggone Tired

Overnight my puppies decided to test Mommy and Daddy's limits. They are scared of storms and last night was our first thunderstorm since I got here. The dogs spent all night crying and howling at the bedroom door. By the end of the night Mommy and Daddy were so confused as to who was actually crying, me or them. All that fussing makes a boy sleepy.

But I couldn't sleep in too long, today was my first baby photo shoot and I had to be ready. Miss Kate came over with her big camera and a lot of patience and took all kinds of pictures of me. Mommy thinks I'm a pretty handsome model even if I did spend some of the time making a fussy face.

Daddy thought I should have rocked this fauxhawk in my pictures, but Mommy assuerd him that these pictures we were taking were for all my grandparents so I just wore my usual collegiate style combover.

Hope you all had as much fun as I did today, and here's wishing for a more restful night.

My First Day Home

My first day home on Wednesday proved to have a lot of firsts. Mommy, Daddy and Nannie gave me my first bath. I was slippery like a little fish! I wasn't so crazy about the bath, I mean who likes being cold and wet?

I got all cleaned up so that I could visit my doctor for the first time. Hopefully I won't inherit Mommy's clumsiness and be on a friendly basis with my doctor. I was such a good boy at the doctor's that we all went out for lunch at a treat. Even though we went to a Mexican restaurant, Mommy advised that I skip the salsa because that would just be a mess for Daddy to deal with later.

I also went to the grocery store for the first time. It was a very exciting day, but I was exhausted by the end! That mostly catches you up to now, my 5th day of life. As I always I leave you with sweet promises to blog more often.

Homeward Bound

We were finally released from the hospital Tuesday afternoon at 4pm. It took us a little while to get out the door because my car seat made Mommy and Daddy so nervous. They didn't want to make any mistakes.

I love riding in Daddy's Jeep. The bouncing put me to sleep right away. Mommy says I slept through my very first Atlanta rush hour traffic drive down 285.

My Nannie was waiting for me at my house when I got home. So were my puppies! I think they are scared of me because they've never seen a human so small and I don't think they expected me to sometimes smell as bad as they do!
Now that we were at home, Daddy continued his reign as diaper champ, rushing to assist any time I decided to leave a little surprise! He's so good now that he can do it with one hand, unless I throw him a curveball :)

Mr. Popularity

Mommy, Daddy and I spent Sunday, Monday and Tuesday in the hospital and we had so many nice visitors! Nannie, Poppie and Teetee arrived 4 hours after I did. They treated me like quite the little celebrity. My Poppie had to put up a good fight to steal me away from Nannie and Teetee.

A lot of Mommy's friends came. Dara came, Jess came (with my little buddy Zaven in her tummy), and Jessica and Dave came. They live really close to our house, so we're neighbors! I really enjoyed having all those visitors, but I couldn't wait to get home and try out my new house.

Mommy and Daddy tell me there are so many toys and clothes at my house that it'll take me months to get used to it all.

Ready or Not Here I Come!

O.K. I decided I couldn't wait to give Mommy her birthday present. I'll give you one guess at what it is.... ME! The night of Mommy's birthday I decided that I was ready to come into the world. My Mommy is such a good sport, she let me post this picture of her on my blog even though she says it wasn't her finest hour.

Just like a major league baseball game, my arrival took much, much longer than expected. I tried to get there all night, but didn't make it in time. Mommy went into labor at 9:30pm Saturday night and I made touchdown Sunday at 10:42am.

Sunday April 6, 2008 I arrived with a lot of fanfare but not much crying (I'm just not that kind of guy). I was just happy to be here, no one likes overly long trips (as my Nannie, Poppie and Teetee were finding out). Mommy's family drove straight from New Orleans to try to make it to the hospital before I did, but they just missed the big event. No worries though, I'm here for cuddling and spoiling 24/7.

My dream of playing for the New Orleans Saints is a long way off; I only came into the world weighing 6 pounds 7 ounces. But my timing skills could help the team, I showed up a full two weeks before my due date proving I would never miss a catch because of poor timing.

Daddy calls me his little mudbug because when I arrived at Northside Hospital, I was as red as all those crawfish that he and Mommy joke caused me to come early. Now me and Mommy can always celebrate our birthdays together. I bet she'll make me a yummy cake.

Mudbug Madness

My Mommy's birthday was Saturday April 5th. She and Daddy decided they would celebrate by going to a crawfish boil. Mommy says you have to pronounce it craw-fish not cray-fish or people in Louisiana will go nuts!

The food was delicious but spicy. I loved it, all the seasonings made me boogie like crazy. All the people at the party went to the same school as Mommy and Daddy. They said they can't wait to meet me as long as I don't decide to go to that other school across the street from Loyola. You know the one.

I was sad to miss Mommy's birthday, I can't wait to get there and give her my present.
