Going to the Chapel

On Saturday I went to my first wedding. It was so beautiful and believe it or not I was very, very good in church. My Daddy and I looked very handsome in our best clothes. I even wore shoes!

The reception was fun but as you can see it wore me out. Before Mommy and Daddy and I left I managed to sneak in a picture with the beautiful bride Ms. Leah.

Louisiana Living

Well friends I'm back from my Louisiana vacation, but I have so many memories to share. I went swimming in Nannie and Poppie's pool and I loved it! The problem was I loved it a little too much and fell alseep in Daddy's arms in the pool. While it made for cute pictures, Mommy said it's a major hazard and I should find a drier and safer place to sleep.

I got to meet so many new people. I got to spend time with my Aunt Kelly. She's so sweet to me. She loves me even though I was Sgt. Cranky Pants and cried every time she came over to see me.
I went with my family to a Japanese restaurant where they put on a show and cooked the food right in front of us. I was so fascinated by all the movement, but when the chef lit a big flame I let out a big shriek. My Teetee helped calm me down. Mommy says it's good that I know fire is scary if only we can work on my reaction to water.

I will blog more tomorrow friends, I'm still recovering from the long drive home.

Hot Fun in the Summertime

Friends I have so many adventures to tell you about! I love being on vacation (sometimes). Wednesday night Mommy and I went to a famous Louisiana restaurant to meet up with some friends. All of the excitement got me fired up. I wanted to prove to those Louisiana people if they could talk loud, I could talk louder. I wailed for them the entire time we were there. That will show them! I know it's probably hard for you to picture me screaming like a banshee and I'm glad. I don't want you to see cranky Vince, so I'm going to post deceptively cute pictures of me so it distracts you from my total meltdown in the restaurant.

Thursday morning I was back to my happy self. I spent the morning with my Nannie and Poppie. Here's a picture of me and my Poppie, aren't we handsome? I am always Mr. Giggles in the morning at Nannie and Poppie's house but sometimes when I meet new people I'm not as polite.
Mommy and I spent all of Thursday in New Orleans with our friends. My baby friend Charlie and I took our parents to the aquarium. Here's a picture of us checking out the sharks. You can even see one in the background. Since I'm now more aware of the world around me I was even able to see the fish and follow them with my eyes as they were swimming by. If I only had a fishing pole...

Charlie and I rebelled in the afternoon and we wouldn't take our naps. I was even able to sneak in this picture of me with Charlie's Mom. Shhh don't tell him, he might be jealous. There was so much fun stuff going on. How is a baby supposed to sleep during all of that? After our failed nap attempt Charlie and I took our Mommies back to the tv station where they used to work. I got to meet Ms. Leah. She's so beautiful and on Saturday I'm going to get all dressed up and go to her wedding.

Everyone at the station was so nice and friendly. They've known Mommy since before she was a Mommy or even married to Daddy! But sadly friends I am here to tell you that I will never work in television. All that excitement in the newsroom was just too much for me. I was calm for the first little bit but then I decided to make myself heard over all of the police scanners and ringing phones. Stay tuned, I'm ready to have more adventures today.

Bayou Baby

Bonjour from the bayou! I am here in Louisiana at my Nannie and Poppie's house and I'm having a blast. My great grandmother and my great great aunt are also here so there's no shortage of arms to hold me. Today my Nannie and Mommy gave me a bath and tried to tame my wild hair in vain. Here's a picture of my hair sitting down for roughly 2 minutes. Enjoy it while it lasts folks.

This afternoon I'm going to have some play time before Mommy and I go out to dinner. Please excuse the drool on my clothes, I'm starting to get little tooth buds and I have become a little puddle factory. I won't have teeth for a while but my mouth is still getting ready.

Tonight we're going to eat some yummy Cajun food. I'm so excited I get to meet my baby friend Charlie for the first time tonight at the restaurant. I love being on vacation. I will definitely have to look in to jobs that let me travel all the time!

Daddy's Day

Daddy and I had a lot of fun on Father's Day. We dressed in our matching Saints shirts and went to brunch at a local pub. Then we went to the movies to see The Happening. Just from my baby point of view it was o.k. but wasn't as good as the director's most famous movie The Sixth Sense.

I let Daddy take a nap in the afternoon (that's a rare commodity in our house). For dinner I took Daddy to a sports bar so that he could have manly chicken wings and beer. He loved it!

I saved the best surprise for last. To end Father's Day I showed Daddy my new trick, I lifted my head up off the ground all by myself!

I Love You Daddy

Today is Father's Day and I wanted to create a special blog just for my Daddy. He's the best Daddy in the world. We snuggle every morning and he helps put me to bed every night. He's even given up cursing for me (trust me that's a major, major undertaking for him). I look just like my Daddy and I hope that one day I will grow up to be just like him because he's smart and funny and kind.

Daddy took this first picture of me yesterday morning and the second one he took just a few minutes ago when we were clowning around on my swing.

But Father's Day isn't just about Daddies. I want to say I love you to my Poppie, Grandpa, Uncle Troy and Uncle Ben. There aren't many men in our family, but don't worry boys we're gaining in numbers!

Counting The Days

I have a big week ahead of me friends and I can't wait. On Monday my Nannie comes back to Georgia to shower me with kisses. On Tuesday she and Mommy and I are taking our first roadtrip. We're driving all the way to Louisiana. Mommy says it will be really nice if she doesn't lose her mind having to stop every 2 hours.

All kinds of fun people will be waiting for me in Louisiana. I'm going to meet all kinds of family and friends for the first time including my baby friend Charlie. Mommy says I am too little to eat crawfish yet but we're going to have all kinds of other good food.

Daddy is coming to meet us and have all kinds of fun. Mommy says it will all be indoor fun since she says living in Louisiana is like living on the surface of the sun. I will get to see my Teetee and Uncle Troy's house before they make their big move to Nashville. I am not sad at all that they are moving because it will bring them much closer to me!

Sleepy Head

Hello friends! I did something amazing last night. I slept for 7 and a half hours straight!! Mommy and Daddy couldn't believe it. It would have been great for them except we were having a huge thunderstorm and my puppy Kayle is afraid of those storms so she kept them awake most of the night. There's no rest for the weary in our house.

Now I want to take some time to quash a rumor going around about my hair. Some people think that Mommy and Daddy style my fauxhawk and the truth is that my hair is just naturally this cool and airborne. Don't hate me because I'm beautiful. My 'do could mean I'm destined to be in a rock band or to be a male model or it could mean I will just buy a lot of gel in the future to control it.

Twice As Nice

On Friday I reached my two month anniversary! I went to the doctor and had my first round of vaccinations. That was not my favorite thing. I proved to Mommy and Daddy that I had tremendous lung capacity. Thank goodness that I don't have to do that again until July.

I now weigh 11 pounds and 3 ounces (or more). I'm getting longer and my head is getting bigger too. My neck is getting so strong that I can look around more without as many of those forward head thuds. The doctor said that I am a very active, energetic baby. Mommy told her that she and Daddy know that because their muscles ache from bouncing and playing with me all day.

Heat Wave

Well friends we're having a heat wave here in Georgia. The temperatures are reaching 95 degrees by lunch time so Mommy and I only ventured out to go to our nursery rhyme class today. Daddy went with us. Who knew he could sing all those silly songs? The three of us had so much fun.

The rest of the afternoon I just chilled inside with my summer clothes and the cool fan. Mommy says this Georgia is a crazy place. It gets as hot as Louisiana but in the winter it snows.

Number One Fan

So I know it's a little early and all the football teams are still in summer training, but I wanted to let you know who the best team of the year is. It's the New Orleans Saints!! I am their biggest fan and I am finally big enough to fit in one of my many, many Saints outfits. In this picture I'm even doing a little cheer for them.

Even though Mommy wants my career to focus more on my brain than my body, I am secretly training to be a football player. If there are any scouts out there reading this, take a look at this picture to see how much I am beefing up. Friday at my 2 month checkup, I was weighing in at 11 pounds 3 ounces. That just screams linebacker! I even have my intimidating look perfected.

A Class Act

Mommy and I went to our first class at the library yesterday. It was a nursery rhyme singing class. It was so much fun that I smiled the whole time. I was the youngest baby in the class. What can I say maybe I'm just driven like Mommy?

Mommy and Daddy told me that I'm going to get to go to a real school in July. I will be in a class with other babies whose Mommies and Daddies work just like mine. Mommy says there will be nice ladies taking care of me. I intend to tell them day one that they may be taking care of me but they are a poor substitute for my Nannie who will take care of me for 3 weeks when Mommy goes back to work.

My Bag of Tricks

I've been working on all kinds of new tricks to impress Mommy and Daddy. Yesterday I rolled on my side but Mommy thinks it was just a fluke. After my rocking and rolling, I started trying to grab things. Toys are so much more fun now that I know I can grab them with my hands. Here's a shot of me grabbing my toys.

I'm also mastering my smile, ladies beware. I know just the right time to give Mommy a little of my magic smile to make her heart melt. Here's a little sample of my best work. I don't want to show you the full smile because a baby knows not to give away all the charm at once.
